Good morning PCS families and community,
We have recently learned that one of our teachers tested positive for COVID-19. I have been working with the Steuben County Department of Health over the weekend and we determined that this teacher DID NOT attend school or have any contact with anyone at school anywhere near the time of exposure.
We obviously have been extremely cautious through this entire pandemic, so I wanted to make sure everyone in the PCS community knows that the school is safe to be open currently.
We will continue to monitor these situations as they arise and will make decisions based on what is best for all members of our school community.
Please contact me at email@example.com with any questions. Please do not contact the DOH as they are dealing with many new cases currently.
Throughout the last 6-7 months, I have heard from many of you in the PCS community, and so many people have asked what they can do to help. At this point, the one thing that everyone can do to help is continue to be very careful and follow the rules. We all want to keep PCS open for our students, and the best way to do that is everyone working together to keep all of us safe.
I shared this graphic with all PCS employees last week: https://covidactnow.org/us/new_york-ny/county/steuben_county?s=1102246. I did not share this to scare or worry people, but I think it’s important that everyone knows what is happening in our county presently. We are one of the few “red” counties in the entire state, so we need to understand that we are not immune to this virus. Plus many schools in the area had to shut down completely recently due to a spike in cases.
Thanks for your continued support and patience.
