• Clarification on below message:

Just a clarification from the first message:

Anyone who was determined to be a possible contact was notified by the school on Friday. Those are the only people who are waiting to hear from the DOH.

If we did not notify you that your student was a possible contact, you will NOT be contacted by the DOH and your student may attend school.

    Sorry for the confusion!

    Good afternoon PCS families,

Sorry to bother everyone on the weekend, but I wanted to update families on the most current information available.

    • At this point, unless the Steuben County DOH informs me otherwise, we are planning to open for school tomorrow. We were able to deep clean and disinfect all possibly impacted areas, so it is safe for us to open school. The DOH is still conducting their contact tracing based on the information we provided to them on Friday. Presently, some members of our faculty/staff are being quarantined. Out of an abundance of caution, people who have not yet been contacted by the DOH are NOT attending school tomorrow.

    • At an emergency Board meeting Friday evening, the Board approved moving our Superintendent’s Conference Day scheduled for February 1, 2021 to this Friday, October 2. Therefore, students will not attend school that day. Our teachers need a day to develop their remote learning plans since closings like this may become more frequent and we may be required to close for longer periods of time. We will continue to keep you posted on our plans as they develop.

Most importantly, please know that we continue to take the health and safety of everyone in our PCS family very seriously.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns at bayk@prattsburghcsd.org.

    Sincerely,

    Kory Bay
