Good afternoon PCS families and community,
Here are some updates to the voting process and graduation that were just announced by the governor over the weekend and this morning:
Absentee ballots are now going to be accepted via mail until June 16 at 5 PM. You may drop your ballots off in the ballot box located at the main entrance of the building today until 6 PM and tomorrow, June 9 from 7 am – 5 pm. As per the governor’s executive order, we CANNOT accept ballots in the ballot box past June 9th at 5 PM. We can only accept mailed ballots until June 16.
The governor also ruled that school districts can host graduation ceremonies outside with a maximum of 150 people in attendance. All ceremonies must adhere to CDC recommendations for social distancing, wearing face coverings, and cleaning procedures. We will continue to plan our ceremony that meets the requirements. The governor did say that this could change if there is a spike in COVID-19 cases, so we do have an alternative ready in case that happens.
Stay safe everyone!
Hello PCS families and community,
As we get closer to the June 9 budget votes, board election and capital project referendum, I wanted to provide you with some updates and important reminders:
- All qualified voters (18 years of age, residing in the district for 30 days prior to vote, and a citizen of the United States) in the district should be receiving absentee ballots this week. These ballots can be completed and mailed in using the self-addressed stamped envelope provided. If you do not receive an absentee ballot, please call Roxy Elward at 522-6211. These ballots need to be received by 5:00 PM on June 9.
- Our 2020-2021 adopted budget is a 1.62% increase over this year’s budget. However, we are anticipating a 0% tax increase for PCS residents this year!
- We also have a capital project referendum for vote. Follow this link for information on the capital project including Q and A documents and scope of the work to be completed: https://www.prattsburghcsd.org/Page/2336
- Most importantly, this project will be able to be completed with no additional impact to tax payers. We will be able to enhance our facilities and meet the needs of our students while still holding taxes down.
I will be having a Facebook LIVE event to discuss the budget, the tax impact and the capital project on Thursday, May 21 at 3:00 PM. For those of you who don’t have Facebook, there will be videos on our website that provide additional information.
Also, if you ever have any questions about the budget or the proposed capital project, please do not hesitate to call me at 607-522-6211 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would be happy to answer any questions.
Finally, thank you for your continued support during this crazy time. All of us at PCS miss your children and can’t wait to get them back to school.
Take care and stay safe.
